Backache

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone suffer with low back pain? Ive suffered for month now, cannot stand to wash up. Cant really describe it. Mentioned it to my consultant last September. She sent me for an x ray. She also mentioned sacro illiac syndrome. I dont know what to do, I dont see her till March, pain killers dont work.

I went to physical therapist to help strengthen my legs (knees were my starting point for fibro). He started me out with back stretches. Lay on back, and bring one knee to chest (hands clasped around thigh, just above knee). Pull the knee as far as comfortable. Hold for a several seconds (not just up and down), then switch to other knee. Repeat for 10 minutes. It helps to warm your back up 1st with a heating pad, if you have one.

How about a TENS machine? I find it good for upper back pain.

Lindabradley56... I suffer terribly with lower back pain. I now am having weekly nerve blocker injections. I have had 2 treatments so far. It gives me some relief for the day.

I get it while i'm in bed, laying on my back. It is so painful, I need to turn on my side. And turning is so painful, I need to count, 1, 2, 3, GO!

I remember when the doctor touch the trigger points, the ones in the lower back were the most painful.

I agree with you about the pain killers not working, you have to use one or two. I have lyrica and savella they work very well for me you have to just be on the correct dosage of the lyrica! I hope that helps, you can't always go by the side effects. I've been on lyrica for many years now with NO side effects. And I only have minimal bad days! Feel better. 😉
