Hand Weakness

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all,

I’m wondering if anyone else on here has had some similar symptoms. For the past 6 months or so I’ve been experiencing what is kind of like weakness in my hands. I still can grip things and have coordination and such, but my hands will shake when I hold something. They just seem to fatigue very quickly; my arms do too—- they will actually shake if I’ve been carrying something (even not that heavy!) for a few minutes. For awhile I also had burning and numbness/ tingling in both hands… read more

I have alot of weakness in my hands, arms and legs. Constant tingling in my hands. I drop things alot. Seems to be getting worse as the years go on. Having more bad days than good. No energy, really bad fatigue.

Some times I have spasms in my legs or like fire ants under my skin....My Dr. said this happens when inflamation is active in the nerves.

Hello, I have the exact symptoms, ever since fibro started about 10 years now. My arms, hands feel weak, shaky (visibly), however they are fully functional, I can lift things, fine motor skills are ok (bit shaky at times, especially left hand) and get tired quickly. Sometimes feels like inner tremors. Usual muscle stiffness, aches in arms. Sometimes they don't shake at all. The left hand is more problematic. I would think these symptoms comes with fibromialgia, just muscles get tired more easily or feel tired. Also would like to add, that shakiness started when I was first put on Sertaline (SSRI) even my arms begun very visibly shaking on this med, had to stop. The shakiness is gone most part, but the left hand kept its light shakiness ever since. Don't know if this is because of the SSRI but would not be surprised by permanent damage of central nervous system because of the drug.

I had numbness in my right foot and it turnt so I couldn't walk on it and went kind of floppy at the ankle so I couldn't stand. I found that quite scary and its happened a couple times now. Once at work we were called into a meeting and my body wouldn't get up which I felt embarrassed about and kept saying to myself, come on work, get up and withing about 30 seconds that seemed like hours I got up.
