Job Accommodations For Fibromyalgia
I was wondering if anyone has asked an employer for reasonable accommodations.
I work as an executive assistant; my main tasks are managing President’s schedules and arranging his business trips. When he’s in town, he needs my assistance in the office, but when he’s out for business trips, I would like him to allow me to work from home (when I do not feel well enough to go to work or when I feel I could focus better at home by using a heating blanket or any other medical devices).
@A MyFibroTeam Member I find the Mayo Clinic website very informative, too. Thank you for your suggestion!
@A MyFibroTeam Member I know, I have to be careful. It is illegal to fire someone for disability, but I'm aware that employers could make up anything to fire their employees. It is so wrong, though.
My doctor asked to contact HR to get the accommodation form so that she could fill it out. I thought that was a little strange... I prefer getting her letter on practice letterhead to make it more official.
Get a letter from your doctor outlining the accommodations you need for work. This helps heaps. A doctors letter on practice letterhead is a legal document.

Be careful..make sure you do your homework about your boss and your employer...many people have lost their jobs from unsympathetic employers.🤗
