Anyone Reduced Norteiptyline Dose And Had Side Effects?
My primary care Dr recently asked me to begin reducing my nortriptyline dose due to high heart rate (resting 100-110 bpm). I have dropped from 20mg to 10mg, heart rate has improved, but six weeks later I’m feeling bad with weakness, headaches, brain buzzinf, etc. Wondering if this is still withdrawal symptoms or just resurgence of FM symptoms. Any thoughts or stories of similar experiences would be appreciated.
Weaning off any antidepressant should be slow. My doctor weaned me off Cymbalta way to fast, I started going thru horrible withdrawals. I went back on the dose I was at when my doctor told me to stop. It took about 4 months to wean properly so I wouldn’t go thru any withdrawals
So many doctors hand antidepressants out like candy with little or no understanding of the side effects while taking them or when you want to stop them. 🙁 is your norteiptyline a capsule or a tablet?
They do make remeron tapering strips. Hopefully my insurance covers them.....and hopefully my doctor knows about them
I went back to thr original dose and symptoms were gone within 2 days. Definitely withdrawal issues. Glad I feel better, but it is disturbing how these drugs can do this to you. Ill be sticking with the original dose for a few weeks and then attempting a sow weaning again. Best of luck with the remeron.
That’s how I weaned from cymbalta, taking the beads out. I’m on Remeron now, I want to start weaning but it’s going to be difficult and probably expensive because they are tablets. 🙁
