I used a cold pack in the mornings with Advil and then laid down after lunch with a microwave heat pad or electric heating pad and laid on my affected side for compression, I also found that a snug halter type tankini bathing suit top gave me good compression, I tried to rest my affected side for as long as it took, and once it started subsiding near the end of 3 weeks I started to gently use that side again. I really hope this pain goes away soon for you! It’s horrible! Keep me posted and I’m here for support when you need it ❤️

I'm having something similar, I think. Lower left ribs, it goes into the back and also down my left side. It's been about a month. Sometimes it's very painful and sometimes hardly noticeable, but it hasn't gone away. Touching my side and rib area on the back is very tender on both sides, but the noticeable pain is on the left.

I’ve been getting extreme rib pain just below my left breast, sometimes in my back on my left shoulder (about 2”-3” down from my neck, near the spine). The pain in the ribs occasionally hurts near the side of my body and radiates down my body towards my ‘kidney area’ and hip on the left side. Upon personal physical exam, there are no hard lumps present. The only obvious issue is soft ‘trigger points’, which are extremely painful to the touch. When pressed, they radiate pain to said areas.

I’ve been utilizing ice packs, Motrin, and absorbine in addition to Lyrica and Norco. The pain is STILL present.

While I have suffered from Fibromyalgia since 2008, this is the first time it has presented itself with such severe (10/10 level) pain since my initial diagnosis.

Is there anyone else experiencing this nightmare? If so, how do you cope?

I had that a couple years ago and I figured out it was brought about by a repetitive gardening action I was doing. Unfortunately it took me about 4-6 weeks to feel better. It is so uncomfortable, just try your best to rest and be kind to yourself. Now I am real careful about bending or turning my mid section (ribs) when I am doing things, and I simply don’t do repetitive actions anymore.
