Restless Legs Ans Weighted Blankets
Do weighted blankets help with the restless leg syndrome side of fibromyalgia? Has anyone here tried one, and if so which brand is best?
I've been finding my restless legs getting worse. The sensation is mainly under my knees. It feels like they're on fire but also pins and needles, and the nerves just build until I have to shake my legs. If I don't, the pressure just keeps building till its unbearable, but if I do shake my legs, the whole thing just resets and keeps building up again.

I got one and it doesn't help at all. It made it worse for me. Just do a test. Have someone gently hold down your legs for a little bit while you try to relax and see what happens. When I was tossing and turning in the middle of the night my husband would put his leg over and hold down my legs. It got worse for me and I woke up completely and was miserable. I do have one but I had to get the RLS under control first. Some things make it worse. I was on Amitriptyline for Fibromyalgia and that was making it worse. Now I'm taking lyrica and that helps both fibro and rls. Also, artificial sweeteners will make it worse. Aspartame is the worse by far.
I cannot tolerate a weighted blanket. It makes me hurt.
Magnesium tablets taken at dinner time daily really helps and thiamine (vitamin B1)
I was prescribed very high doses of iron for my RLS. The idea was to raise my level to twice the norm. I had to give up due to stomach upset. I hope your situation improves Char. Take care.
