Cold Hands

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My hands are always cold... I can't warm them up. You know that feeling you get after playing in the snow then going inside.. Yep that's how they feel. My thumb on my right hand paralysed 2 years ago but it's stating to work again now I get numbness in 2 fingers on the right hand 🙄 I drop things, I can't peel veg anymore and I'm finding holding a pen hard... Wot is this? Why is it happening? And more importantly is there anyt9i can do? Thanking you for letting me bend ya ears again 💜

I always have cold hands too. I have treated myself to some fingerless gloves with slight compression. It supports my wrists and knuckles which often ache, keeps my hands warm and I can type in them as no fingers. Wouldn't be without them. Got them on Amazon x.i have dropped things since before Fibro so don't think anyone would notice if it was worse!!

One question I find helpful to ask patients is this: “How often do you find yourself dropping things?” For some patients with fibromyalgia, their answers are long and varied. But concerns about their dropped coffee cups, car keys, pens, boxes, or cartons of milk are often dismissed, as these patients never think this may be a sign of the muscle weakness that comes with fibromyalgia.

Sounds like raynauds. When my hands are white, the dr. says that is when my hands and feet do not have any blood flow in them when they are cold. He told me to warm them up with warm water as hot water will make them sting real bad. Next they will turn purple when the blood is lying in them. Then my hands will turn the normal color once the blood is flowing through them. I have had this since I was a child. We were very poor and could not afford warm gloves and warm boots.

Mine turned out to be arthritis. Have doctor give you an Xray . I use Emu oil, works great. Can soak hands in Epsom salts and hot water. 🦋Victoria
