Why Does Social Security Not Recognize Fibromyalgia As A Disabling Medical Condition?
I have had four back surgeries and need a Fifth, but my last surgery was considered a failure because of my fibromyalgia. However, I have been denied Disability several times.
Depends where you are i suppose, in the uk its a recognised disease now, its proven to have blood and dna markers which now classify it as a disease. In the US i have heard its a time consuming process that can take months and a lawyer to make a claim, dont quote that i may be wrong. In the uk you need an official medical diagnosis and get help to fill out the forms as they are designed to catch you out. Then its down to the dhss, if you get refused appeal, i have had to appeal several times over the years and i have multiple serious conditions. I hope this helps.
Get lawyer that specializes in disability and only gets paid when you do. Talk to your dr see if he'll write letter in your favor. Do all dr asks you to like x-rays whatever else. Keep most paperwork. Good luck!!!
They just like saying no. I had to apply and appeal twice before they said yes when I had it for all my chronic illnesses and mental illnesses in the past. Appeal and keep appealing til they say yes.
Yes , there is also a blood test for diagnosis I believe 🥰
As of 2022, it is considered autoimmune which I said from the get go.
