Castor Oil And Muscles Knots???? Help!
I have bumps/knots in my muscles. Im curious if anyone has ever used castor oil to draw out whatever causes the knots???? Im desperate for a solution, preferably natural.
If you can afford it, massage is the easiest way to release muscle knots as Susan has mentioned, but if you’re on a tight budget Foam Rolling will give the same results, as long as you stick with it, as it is quite painful at first, but with repeated sessions it becomes less painful and you’ll feel the muscle knots release and range of motion return.

Hi Jaycee, haven't heard of using castor oil for this but really can't see it working - muscles are deep in the flesh normally, and this oil would only work topically. Have you thought of using magnesium? Magnesium complex in tablets taken once or twice a day to get to the heart of the problem quickly. Magnesium as I am sure you know will relax the muscles back to normal. Even a good dose of Epsom salts added to a warm bath would help better than castor oil I would imagine. Sea salt baths are also therapeutic for lots of people.
Best of luck with this, as it must be painful.
I have used the Watkins medicated ointment and it has camphor and menthol. I really like it. I don't use it all the time.
Hi, I have suffered with muscle knots in my back, shoulders and neck since I was about 17 years old. I use to call the stress knots. This is at least 25 years before I was diagnosed with Fibro. Back then I would go to the ER sometimes because they were unbearable and would be told to take Tylenol and hot baths, which never worked. Anyhow, today at 54 my neurologist's assistant (NP) began to do trigger shots. After trying many things over the years, these have given me the most & longest relief. Ironically, my 19 y/o daughter is now suffering from then also. She does massages and I rub her back when I can knowing how painful they can be. She is trying to get into my neurologist office to see if she may have Fibro. I'm praying she doesn't. Wishing you the best. Hope you find something that works for you soon! I can relate both to the pain and frustration.
PS: The only thing I remember my mom wanting me to try Castro oil for was my IBS-C which I've suffered with since childhood.🙁😜
I've used chest packs of castor oil for respiratory problems, works well, but very messy. You have to have dedicated flannels and clothes. I learned from Barbara O'Neill that Sunshine2 spoke of. I don't get any chest muscle spasms from my myofascial pain syndrome or costchondritis when I use it, so I do think it penetrates down to the muscles.
