The meeting with the Functional Health doctor was enlightening and validating. I really like the philosophy of the new doctor and clinic.

I suspect that a functional doctor is the same as a naturopath is in Canada. Mine addresses my edema, digestion, inflammation and food sensitivities with natural supplements instead of prescribed drugs. Yes expensive, but no side effects or addiction.
A functional medicine doctor is an MD that focuses beyond the scope of western medicine. Their focus is finding the cause not just treat systems. This is the frontier of current medicine. Not covered by medicare yet.
I think I may try that when we get home from vacation. My sister used it and it worked for her.
I have always wanted to try one but I am afraid it is just too expensive.
