Took lamotrigine many years ago. Was supposed to help with depression but I didn't find it did anything.

Hi Gwen, I have never heard of these medications. However, at present I'm taking Clonazepam 2mg, which is a standard medication for anxiety. However, I'm being weaned off of them, as I'm not as anxious as I once was. As for sleeping, chronic insomniac. Sleeping pills didn't work. I had terrible side effects in the morning I'd feel horrible. So for many years I would try to function on 3-4 hrs of broken sleep or just watching the clock, angry that the next day I'd feel like a dead weight and be one. What to do, my gp was at an impass, didn't know what to do so she suggested that melontona I'm not sure of the spelling. Well you're to take a couple of these...and sleep! I started with three, then six then nine ended up at twelve, but still, no sleep. I spent years suffering, my gp...try relaxing tapes, a cup of tea ..... please, really! Well, a little while ago I started to see a healer of sorts. I don't know what else to call her. She told me to take 5HTP, available at the health food store. I've only been on them for a week. When I get into bed I have that noise for a few minutes ( that was one of my problems, I just couldn't get the noise to stop in my head) but, within a few minutes I'd be fast asleep. I usually wake up once to pee, then right back to sleep, ( before I was up and down, maybe a tinkle, maybe not) Well, I've been sleeping 7,8,9, but mostly just 8 hrs a night. That's what my sleep apnea machine records. I have no side effects. There's no grogginess, sleep hangover, headache, nothing I just wake up, usually hungry for breakfast! I don't know if this will be of any use to you, but, I'm just sharing what I have done and do. None of what I said is an indorsment for any product. Always check with your pharmacist about any medication. I say pharmacist, then doctor. My gp nearly killed me a couple of times with prescribing meds that would have had diire consequences for me, my pharmacist caught this. And if you go to a health food store, talk to someone knowledgeable.. So that's it. Thea2 😊

I’ve been on it now about a month, I am sleeping better and I don’t feel my anxiety as much. πŸ™‚
