Does Anyone Use A Walker To Get Around When Out Of The House? Has Any Walking During The Day Seem To Bring On More Pain At Night?
I have a cane by try not to use it! I walk most days, slowly and definitely not in a straight line since my balance is awful but I walk on flat surfaces. Bike/walking paths are best. Sidewalks have too many cracks. I use a grocery cart every time I go into the store, even if itโs to grab a few things. I have a stationary bike and if I feel like Iโm not up for a walk, I use that. Iโm still getting some movement but not as tiring as walking if Iโm not feeling up to it. Hope this helps!
Hi Maria, Last December, I finally gave in and got a walker. My physiotherapist was delighted. I have balance issues now. And now, no more collapsing on people's lawns. Using a walker is a delight. When you feel tired, unsteady, just sit down! I go like the wind with mine. It was exactly what I needed. And I have no pain at night from being out...remember, sit when tired for a few moments. Getting a walker will change your life for the better! Til Later.....Be Well. Take Care Thea2 ๐
We have several members with canes, walkers & wheelchairs.
Seems split on if walking helps. A lot say it does other say it's a big no , can't do it without pain.
I'm sure you'll get to hear from several of them in the coming days.
I personally am contemplating buying a cane. And some days I can walk with no repercussions during or after and other days I'm lucky if I made it to the bathroom from my bed and it's right next to my room. ๐
