Does Anyone Experience Hand And Wrist Pain?- I Did “a Little” Gardening Yesterday And Now My Wrists Are Killing Me!

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was having a good day yesterday, so I did some gardening and my hands are kind of locked in a claw like position, and my wrists are really sore like they are trying to recover. It feels like an exaggerated response to using my hands in a different way. I wasn’t expecting such a reaction and I’m not sure if this is just a fibromyalgia reaction or arthritis…. Which X-rays don’t show I have much of. However, I’ve come to realize that X-rays really don’t show much other than bone structure. The… read more

My painful wrist was triggered by carrying groceries. My doctor said it's tendonitis. I did find an adjustable wrist brace which did help. Tendonitis does not show up on x-rays. Hold your coffee cup with two hands less weight on your wrist. Carry packages up in your arms. Not by the handles carrying by the handles puts a strain on your wrist. Also apply topicals to your wrist.

I find I have weak and sore wrists and hands. It may be from fibromyalgia or another reason which having fibromyalgia makes worse. You should perhaps look into Carpal tunnel syndrome ( which I apparently have) or other tests, eg MRI with your Dr. if it gets really bad. Good luck x

Yes, that's the question we all ask when dealing with a new pain...is it fibro or something else. My pharmacist recommended I take Osteo Biflex Triple Strength with Glucosomine each day and it has helped with arthritis in my thumbs and the rest of my achey brakey body.

I do hold my coffee cup with two hands. That’s so funny that you say that! 😊 My hands have been generally weak since having fibromyalgia, weakness in my hands, wrists and arms in general. I also love the suggestion about carrying groceries up in your arms, rather than by the handles. For whatever reason I’ve never thought of that before but I will start doing that. Thank you.
