The best advice I was given for meditation: when you are interrupted by your thoughts, because you will be interrupted constantly, don't get mad at yourself or frustrated. Just acknowledge the thought, then send it on it's way without judgement of yourself. Emptying your mind is almost impossible, so don't get bothered by the interruptions. I find it useful to concentrate on calming music intently.

Meditation..... here are some possibilities.....
White Light meditation: get comfy, close your eyes, imagine a gentle white light as though you'd turned on the electric. Allow the light to travel head to toe. Imagine the light heals as it travels.
5-10 minutes to start
30-45 minutes if and as you like. Your mind is clear Permit thoughts to leave. After a few practices, intrusive thoughts will cease.

Relaxation/Meditation: get comfy. Relax head to toe. Feel the chair/bed supporting you. Counting backwards from 10 to 1, imagine with each count you are descending an escalator. Upon reaching "1," imagine you're in a peaceful setting of your design: the sea shore, an imaginary place in which you settle in for 10-30 minutes, clearing your mind as you meditate.

If interested i'll send links.

i've been meditating for decades. but then, i'm an introvert. what better place is there to go😂😂😂

pros: healing, pain relief, restful, can benefit anxiety .

cons: some people report experiencing anxiety after certain practices . This is rare.

i taught relaxation, meditation as part of my responsibilities when I worked in healthcare.

One thing I learned about meditation and mindfulness: just the act of practicing is doing it. You don't have to reach a state of calm or bliss. Just mindfully bringing your attention back to the present moment time and time again, with self compassion, is everything.
For yoga, I love Natalia's "yoga for all bodies" approach. She embeds her teaching with accessibility.

Margaret, maybe we can share a room? 😂 My family's been telling me for years they need to lock me up😵‍💫
Peter, you ARE funny💖 btw, same with me and "relaxing" I can't turn things off. 😣
Well, also can't turn my brain ON sometimes but that's a different story....
