Fibro And The Pelvic Floor
Does anyone know or have experience with how fibromyalgia can affect a person's pelvic floor muscles? We have been dealing with incontinence for some time now. Today, we had our Ultrasound done but what is concerning is that my doctor didn't even mention if our problem could be with the pelvic floor instead of the bladder & kidneys! Fibromyalgia (FM) is a rheumatic syndrome that causes musculoskeletal disorders and is associated with several problems that affect quality of life. As the musculoskeletal system is affected, it can have an impact on the pelvic floor muscles, leading to pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD).
Unfortunately, to be heard sometimes with this disease you'll need to "scream". Most doctors don't want to know all our symptoms, especially if it's not on their list of what-is-fibromyalgia.
Hot dang! Thank you so much!!!
@A MyFibroTeam Member hi, ummmmm yeah so pls don't automatically assume that a person is ok with religious based affirmations. We get u are trying to help and be kind but pls understand that we have been through a lot of religiously based trauma. We have been hate crimed multiple times at our father's church and often transphobic rhetoric is perpetuated in SOME not ALL churches however, that transphobic rhetoric is and has been reflective of some of the people that hurt us in church's. We aren't mad, moreso unintentionally triggered. Pls respect that because we really respect your humanity and autonomy to your life. We just ask for a bit of reciprocation. We have been called slurs before and we went to boy scouts and was further hurt there as well as it simultaneously was at a church. Please understand.... We don't mean to be rude at all and if we are pls tell us which part came across that way so at least we can revisit for the next time something like this happens
