Anyone Know Or Suspect How They Developed Fibromyalgia

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Myself I suspect heavy physical exertion from building construction but probably more so from heavy repetitive weight lifting in the gym . Also mental stress and this late 2023 flare is the worse ever it went wide spread probably from anxiety and anger from my ex gf because I found out she was messing around on me behind my back .

Wow what traumatic episodes we lived through. It was tough I’m sure but people like us must be strong and survivors. We’re awesome.

I had childhood trauma, child birthing trauma, and my Mom had it. So I hit the trifecta! We were all dealt an awful hand-but it’s up to us to play the “crap” out of this hand!! Therapy has helped me to learn how to deal with the fact that I have an invisible illness that’s here to stay. I Refuse to let it win!!! I still have an Ace up my sleeve! Go Purple Warriors, Go!!!

I think it’s due to repeated physical and mental trauma, along with high levels of stress on a brain that was still developing. Then having early on set arthritis makes our response to it worse then it should be. Look at it this way, everything about us is an overreaction. Can’t even touch us sometimes because nerves are going so crazy. The only thing that seems to be helping me is attacking it with depression and anxiety meds, muscle relaxers, and medical cannabis. It has taken me since 2004 to find what works to have the least bit of normalcy.

I’m not 100 percent sure, mostly child hood trauma. Being picked on in high school. I have lost both my father and stepfather to Cancer.
But my mum is still alive
