I took Tramadol for 2 years never felt relief. I quit taking it and sure enough it was not helping me. I am now only taking Tylenol Arthritis. It works about same as tramadol. I do not need a prescription for it. I will not take Tramadol again. Always give it a try see if it helps.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I use to get Dilaudid, which is a derivative of morphine for my pain. Yes it helped. I only took it at night. Morphine makes my throat swell shut, so i was put in Dilaudid. Well since they past the new federal law on opiates or anything that strong that might help someone w their pain, I never took A very high dosage. My highest was 8mg. I chopped them up and took 2mg. Because of the new laws boy did the Dr's taper me off those really quick. Though I'm very angry that they now won't give me any for pain management. They'll give me any muscle relaxer accept the one that works for me, Soma.

I am always told research shows Morphine does not help fibro. Say ninety per cent of people are not helped, hence the view of consultants. How do they know your not in the ten per cent it does help. If people believe it helps then surely if must do. Then consultant say you think it helps because your addicted to it. Shame they can’t offer a useful alternative.

I hate the medical community too. Because majority of them tell you to take Tylenol which is like taking a drink of water. I have a friend who is in worse shape than I am she constantly oozing and ah every move she makes they won't give her anything that helps they have her taking Advil. I have never abused anything in my life. Doctors really don't care if you suffer.

I take Tramadol for OA mainly. I am prescribed eight a day but try to just take three at one go in the evening. I find it completely alters how I feel, gives me a lift. It is addictive and my doctor worries about this. I could easily get addicted if I chased the desire to feel pain free which is impossible, and the good feel factor. Constipation is the worst side affect for me. I recommend it but with caution. Take care everyone.
