Crowds

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable when in crowds. I went to my nephews 1st birthday party. I started to perspire cause I felt really hot. Then the noise bothers me. TV'S going people talking over the tv and other people and kids playing and screaming. It seems this has started to make me unconfortable. This has not bothered me in the past.

Sensory problems are pretty common. Bright lights, loud noise, fluorescent lights, scents,, crowds, and even things in your field of vision moving too fast, like looking out the window in a car, can all make some Fm's sufferers heads spin. Really no help for this except avoid these situations as best we can. I bring table lamps with incandescent bulbs to work since fluorescent lighting gives me absence seizures.

Ooohhh yeah. Hate crowds. Do not do well at all! Makes me feel overwhelmed! Sensory overload with the noise and physical contact. You're definitely not alone in this one!

I have a real problem with the level of noise. There are times I have to have my bf turn down the tv due to it just really irritating me. This only started about a year after I was diagnosed. I take an anti-anxiety med which helps alot in social situations but I still find myself avoiding them. My bf is great in the sense that he does most of the grocery shopping due to the fact that the lights where we shop are very bright & by the time we leave I have a horrible headache. Also, the uncomfortable feeling around others as well which I am working on, I never use to feel this way, was always a very outgoing person who would talk to anyone anywhere. Really feel like fibro has robbed me of much more than my physical health. But I have read alot about how sensory overloads are extremely common with fibro.
