Fibromyalgia, lupus, RA, polymyalgia rheumatica are classified as autoimmune diseases. They all are related in that your immune system goes to hell in a hand basket. This also includes the giant cell arteritis. The mire you know the more we are able to talk to our healthcare providers.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, please be carefull. I know we love our grandkids,however; with no disrespect intended,kids are the nastiest little buggers in the world. Have you seen the commercial where whatever the kids touch it sticks to them? Seriously. I think of that commercial everytime I see a kid sneeze ans then wipe their noses on their sleeves or their hands and then walk by a door knob and WHAMO!!!from the hands to the door knob to the next person touching it and so on . I worked in a reknown Childrens Hospital lab for 17 years and really with out a thought they play with one another and cough and sneeze without holding a tissue to their noses and mouths. We have a weakened immune system and all it takes is one little virus or bacteria and then you are down for the count, sister.We are the melting pot now for all those nasty things. I got shingles from a nurse at work who was sent home because she had the shingles. No one told me she was a walking contagion. I was on Methotrexate and another RA drug at the time so I stayed in the lab most of the time but she came down to tell me she was leaving and wasn't thinking and 21 days to the hour, I got shingles. So you never know what buglets your friends are walking around with. So please be very careful. Sorry this is so long but I was trying to give you some info. :/
