It's Ok You Just Need CBT!!?
After being diagnosed with Fibro back in 2011 after a gruelling Hep C treatment regime, I was looked after very well by my GP, however after moving to another county my new GP has decided that I need to come off, of Tramadol and has put me solely on Pregabalin. My pain is very bad, the Pregabalin just make me feel like a Zombie but do not help at all with the pain. The new GP is pretty much labelling me as just needing counselling. I am on antriptalyn as well.I do not believe it works...The lyrica does help a bit
A doctor in Port Lincoln took me off Tramadol, put me on Amitriptaline but it didn't work for me, I was in a bad way yet I couldn't tell my Doctor, he'd just smile. So I've moved clinics, I'm now back on Tramadol as well as my other medications. I've tried so many of their antidepressants, they either made me put on weight or become very thin or they would have a psychotic affect where I didn't sleep and got quite angry. So I too would suggest a new clinic, talk about a care plan with them. Good luck π π€π€
I too have had mixed results with doctors here in England and abroad. It is all about savings now in the NHS, and CBT is a limited time care, so costs less in the long run. Unfortunately doctors are being convinced by a false report, may I add, that fibromyalgia and CFS/ME can be cured through pacing and CBT. I read a report on the statistical findings that created this information, and it is horrific what the doctors did to make their findings fit their thesis. Anyway, I would see someone else at your practice, or file a complaint about your care and move to another one completely. I know that too is not always possible, but you need a care plan that will help you be in less pain, and more mobile. I am saddened to hear what you are going through, but I am also not surprised as my ME group say the same thing time and again. Gentle hugs xx
It's these new age doctors trying to clean us all up of opiates, get everyone on antidepressants so we all zombied out. They think they saving you. I won't take their antidepressants π€π€
I am from the UK and live in the UK.
To be honest guys I feel I am being controlled. I am under a pain clinic and they convinced my GP to stop prescribing the Tramadol. I TOTALLY understand that they can be addictive, however I never took the full daily dose!. I am allergic to Amitryptaline so that is a no-no and the only other anti inflammatory I was offered contains ibuprofen which I cannot have due to asthma. I have recently begun having hip pain on both sides, and a locum GP has referred me for an X-Ray......I doubt they will see anything but my worry is, I am being treated almost as if I have nothing wrong with me. I am sure a lot of other people are going through the same scenario.....I just feel very concerned that in this day and age of progressive medicine and scientific breakthroughs the medical profession are sweeping us under the carpet.
