If you don’t take an oral nsaid because of Gerd. What do you take instead? I thought topical gels were ok. Someone says they are not

My doctor gave me Protonics (Pantoprazole) 40mg pill a day, but after a year he cut my dosage in half, and that is working. You have to be aware of the long term side-effects, that's why he wanted me to cut the dose in half. He mentioned Osteoporosis, but of course there are more side-effects. You need to discuss your options with your doctor, unless you want to try more natural alternatives. Also, I take Tylenol instead of an NSAID.... the constant use of Ibuprofen (nsaid) gave me a stomach ulcer. God bless. Susan

Whether you have GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease - or really bad heartburn) or not, always take the lowest dose of an NSAID that helps and always take with some food. The "azole" drugs are pretty much the same and generic is as good as brand names, but cheaper. Ranitidine and other more expensive drugs are good, but if you know the foods that trigger your GERD, it's better to avoid them than adding another drug to your regimen. At one time my "specialists" had me on almost 20 different drugs. I finally said "forget this" and took myself off of almost everything (extremely slowly over 2 years!) and when my head started to clear and after a lot of research during that time, I added vitamins, minerals, started with stretching exercises working my way up to Zumba, and took my life back. Many of you are more "fortunate" now because there are drugs tailored for FM and our other problems that didn't exist for me. We also have more information than was available then. I'm just suggesting that you know and listen to your body. I think it tells us a lot but we don't pay attention. I'm glad there are doctors who specialize in FM, but I recently encountered one with a real scam. We still need to be vigilant. Gentle {{{hugs}}} to everyone! Have a good week. 🌈

Everyone is different. I use probionics and aloe vera caps for the inside. I use pure CBD oil topically, and internally I use the same CBD oil plus California poppy tincture in water. Pain level dropping and I'M SLEEPING!!πŸ˜„πŸŽΆπŸŽ‰
I made the choice for me, to stop all meds because off too many reactions and detox brain to toes. It was bad but not as bad as when I detoxed alone at home after bypass surgery because of over medications poison where I was placed for heart rehab. My insides were in constant pain. It was hell. Dehydrated to the point I had no sweat, tear, urine, and constipated. I already have intestinal issues as it is. Now I am feeling much better and am believing that in Time the inside will be healed as well.
Im sending Hope and prayers that you will find what helps you. You can do it. Let us know how you're doing?πŸ’œπŸ•πŸ’œπŸ™

Try Papaya Enzymes. They really do help. Get them at your local health food store.

See your Dr. I take Rx meds for GERD but still have it - just not as bad. I can no longer use NSAIDS as I've developed an allergy to it. I swell up in the face and throat. But, see a Dr.
