Does Anyone Suffer With A Lot Of Allergies?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Foster, RI

I am allergic to shell fish, red dye and so many other things. I was wondering if there was a connection. I have a horrible time with insect bites too

Itchy all over, most of the time. I had read once that itchiness is one of the many symptoms of fibro. My face itches most of the time - regardless of what I use, which is always for sensitive skin, even then, products can and do make me itch and break out in a rash or hives. Also allergic to sulfa drugs.

It's difficult to sit still during a sermon, or a class - rather annoying.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. Sulfa drugs are very dangerous to people who are allergic to it like we are. I made my mom sleep by me when I had a bad reaction to it because I thought I was going to die. It was very scary. Once we have a bad reaction, we have to be very careful since most of us will probably have other reactions to different meds. I was covered in hives for a month and it took 5 doctors to figure out I was having a drug interaction. The hives were in my lungs and I felt like I was going to suffocate. They finally put me on steroids which saved my life. Scary stuff. I hope you never go thru it again. If anyone ever has a bad reaction to anything, go to the er immediately. It only takes a short time to die from allergic reactions if you don't get treated. Don't chance it. Hugs.

I have had many allergic reactions too. Sulfa almost killed me. I don't know if its from fibro but it could be because our immune systems are not as good as people without it.my allergy doctor told me he could not test me because I had so many reactions that the test could kill me.
