Hi, Sounds like another fibro symptom - I have PoTS with my fibro, and the medicos just virtually ignored me saying it is common with fibro. The only thing they prescribed for me was Serc - which is a medication used for Meniere's Disease which is not PoTS. I now have been advised to take Gingko Biloba an old, old herb from way back that was used for a host of maladies - two of which are vertigo and tachycardia. I read somewhere, that it is something like 80% more effective than anything the GPs can give you, but it takes a few days to weeks to start working. It works by dilating the blood vessels which allows more blood into your head and around your body, thus your heart doesn't have to work so hard. Was a little confused when you said your heart rate was 150 - did you mean your blood pressure reading or your pulse? Both quite different and I am presuming you are meaning your pulse - which technically is the rate your heart is pumping, but normally referred to as your pulse. 150 is very high if this is your pulse, so as advised previously, it would be a good idea to see your normal GP who can check this out for you. Try not to stress over this as if PoTS it can be sorted.

blood pressure drops low, especially standing and heart rate Tachycardia in order to try to hurry some blood pumping to vital organs. Brain isn't getting enough blood flow, malfunction autonomic.
Check with M.D. regarding helps...some people can take rehydration salts in fluid or prepared mix.
Compression hose if tolerable in cooler weather, and sometimes Rx is needed.
It could be something else altogether causing the problem. Make sure to check your B.P.

I had the same symptom. Calcium channel blockers (but not amlodipine ) can bring heart rate down. My doctor prescribed Cardizem (diltiazem)30 mg, the starting dose once a day, and gradually increasing to twice a day. This treatment has been working well for me, my heart rate is about 80.
