Tooth Infection Or Nerve Pain?
I was told the original pain in my tooth was a cavity, then nerve related so they did a root canal and said that would be that. The pain I’ve had in my gums, all teeth on that side, eye, ear, jaw, cheek, throat have been much worse since having the tooth fixed! Before going to the dentist only my tooth hurt. Dentist tells me there is nothing he can do, that’s just the way it is for people with fibromyalgia. I feel like he would be taking my pain more seriously if I didn’t tell him about the… read more
Don’t take antibiotics or steroids. Why are you taking so much antibiotics they’re not good for u. There’s been research and studies done that shows that antibiotics cuz fibro. And u cannot mix steroids with antibiotics. Medrol is very potent n dangerous. Prednisone is better at 5mg but u dont need it for that. What kind of antibiotics r u taking? Do not take Fluoroquinolone antibiotics like cipro, levaquilin etc
I went last year for a routine cleaning. My teeth checked out fine. Never had any problems with my teeth. A week later I chipped a tooth. My teeth started throbbing and my gums became very sensitive. I went back to get the chipped tooth fixed and mentioned the pain and irritation I was experiencing. The dentist told me my teeth had shifted. Possibly because of the cleaning. He sanded some of my teeth so I would have better alignment for when I bite down and said that should stop the pain and irritation. Well, my mouth has not been the same since. I continue to have pain in my mouth, jaw, and my gums are always irritated. I think this last teeth cleaning triggered the nerves in these areas and now the Fibromyalgia has set into this area of my body as well. I’m due to go for another cleaning soon, and I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do. I can’t imagine going for another cleaning when my mouth is constantly in pain now. So Cheryl, your not alone. I wish I could recommend what to do. Our bodies are so sensitive when we have Fibromyalgia as you probably already know, that any little thing can trigger pain. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. Jen
Cheryl🌷, I hope you get some relief soon! And a good Doctor that hopefully knows what they’re doing🤞! I’m sending you big healing hugs🦋🌷🦋, Deb
I’m on my 3rd round of antibiotics and he said if it’s not better in a week we will try a different antibiotic. And I said if you know for a fact it’s “just nerve pain” why would I keep taking antibiotics??!! He said just in case. I’ve been taking Motrin but it’s killing my stomach so yesterday he gave me Tylenol codeine and a pack a steroids for one week. I can only take that Tylenol at night since I work all day, but last night it did not help. I’m hopeful about the Medrol (steroid).
Cheryl🌸, I don’t tell Drs or dentists for that reason🤨. One time years ago, i was taken to Emergency Room and i made the mistake of telling the ER Dr that i had Fibro… He said “Oh i suppose you’re here for pain pills”.. I said (I was pissed🤬) “ No, Im here for something for nausea and throwing up”.. he said.. “oh well i can do that” i said “Shove it up your—-“ 😡👍🏻!! I was livid!! I don’t usually talk like that often. Next day I went to another Dr🙄! I’ve never forgotten that. I just don’t tell Anyone in the medical field! That way I know I’ll be treated fairly.. well…almost.. If we’re lucky enough to even get a decent Dr anymore. Sorry for the rant, but felt a need to share that with you, because you were feeling that way. I hope you can find another dentist that can help you soon🌷. I’m sending you healing hugs🦋💜🦋, love Deb
