Welcome Brent 🤗
Yes, at least 7 ailments, and none of the 7 or 8 drs treating me, would let me return to work, after my year of medical leave. As a state employee, I think it took one year, maybe a little longer.
I felt fortunate later, but, I Wanted to return to work, when granted disability.
At the time, I was told I might be able to work part-time at a desk job, but, no more being on concrete.

As I've seen posted here, and talked with others, it seems to often take quite a long time, at least 2-3 years, or longer. Many people suggest a disability lawyer.

Best Wishes for You. 💫🙏

I just started the process.
Waiting on the 3-6months + for the initial application to go thru and denied.
It's pretty much a given they say no on the first try.

I've seen anywhere from a yr 1+ to quite a few like Harlow being 5yrs

There's many things our govt needs to fix. They are all too busy fighting WWE/WWF style to do a lot of it.

Believe it or not, we once had adults on all sides trying to run things.

Good luck on applying
You should start the process.
We all deserve some help from those who are supposed to be helping us-

Oooof.
I get why they have to make it tough, or else there would be a lot of ppl abusing the system probably but for those of us sick - seems so daunting.
Luckily my sisters are helping me. At least the first part of applying. Which was a crazy task all in itself.

Usually takes about a year to get it . first apply and they review your medical records and then they usually turn you down. so then you have to wait for them to give you a date to go before the social security judge. You have to get a lawyer because you will never win your case without one. I've been getting disability for about 13 years now.

Hi Brent,
I just got approved last August and it took about five years. The first judge I had made errors in my case and judgement which caused the process to take much longer. I would highly recommend getting a good disability lawyer from the start. Hope that helps!
