I don't usually have down days but when I do, retail therapy is for me. I love going to the grocery store and chatting with my favorite cashiers. We do a group hug when its time for me to go! I love reading and there is nothing better than getting lost in a good book. It was hard when I had to stop working but I am okay with it now. This winter, my goal is to go through all my pictures...I have BOXES and pick out the ones I want and get rid of the others. I have no where to hang anything anymore because my walls are covered with my pictures from trips and Hawaii.

I have a new hobby and it keeps me so busy I can't believe where time went. I started painting and love it. Have been making my own Christmas cards for a long time and decided to hand paint them this year as well as B cards etc. My mind just goes from one design to another. It is all trial but keeps me busy and while I am thinking about this can't think about lonliness or depression. My family is far away so can't help me and one that is close doesn't speak to her Mom heart braking but have to keep going and my husband passed away 4 yrs ago. Hope you find some answers for yourself as when you retire you will have that many more days to fill up as my Mom used to say to me keep your chin up. Love Evelyn

Ida I find when I am feeling lonely or depressed the best thing to do is get out of the house. On Saturday sometimes I need to stay in bed but on Sunday I get out to church and then usually stop at the coffee shop and have some iced tea. This lifts my spirits on Sunday. I have a friend who is depressed and I keep telling her to go to church. She lives across the street from a church but she won't go. I'm not saying you have to go to church but just get out the house that's the best thing for depression.

That’s a tough one. I’ve struggled with depression all my life. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps. It’s basically accepting how you feel and making the commitment to do what you need to do in spite of your feelings. Because the feelings will change but the need to take care of your responsibilities doesn’t go away. Hope this helps. 😘🩷💚
