Sharing The Importance Of Staying Clear Of "Ultra Processed Foods"!

Don't want to be a party spoiler but I have to mention this because this is a fibromyalgia group and I'm in my seventies now and I have to say what happened to me . I am glad all of you can eat and enjoy your cheese. There was a time when I was addicted to it and then I guess I ate too much. It was the same way with bread. Whenever I love something too much and overdo it, after a while my body rejects it. For a while I just started having the soft mozzarella then my body didn't like that anymore. Then I started trying various European cheeses and also goat and sheep cheeses but I didn't like them. Now I'm perfectly fine without cheese. I guess my gut bacteria changed or something. Apparently my body doesn't like it when I overdo something. But it's also funny how the body changes and adapts. I never in my life thought I would get over my craving for cheese but when you love something and it doesn't love you back, you got to give it up. That's life.
Definitely. I discovered this 20 years ago. I was having terrible migraines for years and discovered it was from MSG and natural flavoring in all of the processed foods we eat.Even teas! It was quite a process that took some time for me ,because natural flavorings have many different names , that way they can hide it in the foods. But since working it out, I’ve been migraine free.
According to the AI overview, melting cheese is no more bad for you than cheese. So, maybe it’s a matter of the type of cheese and if it’s mixed with other ingredients. 🤷♀️🥳
Eating healthy on a budget takes every ounce of creativity I can muster and a lot of “research”.
Especially since the nicer grocery stores are over an hour away. 😅 But the pay off is everything
Nancy your right this is a must. I bought a joint of beef recently, very cheap at the moment. I cooked seven meals with it. £2.50 a meal. Cooking your own meals can be so satisfying, healthy and cheap. I think ultra processed food should be taxed out of existence. All governments are colluding with big business. I know everyone can’t afford a freezer. But if you can I find it as easy to cook a big meal as a small one. I cook a stew. The separate it and turn portions into other things like curry. When I feel a little better I can store food for when I don’t. Take care.
Jacqui,
How do we escape being poisoned by Something?
It's in the air, water, soils, foods, materials and even sadly, the meds we take for our ailments.
As I'm sure, I'm quite a bit older than you, I've come to basically the same conclusion, enjoy What I can, While I can.😉
Newsflash...We don't leave here alive.⚰️⚱️
I'm tired of fretting over every little thing I consume, or feeling guilty because it isn't what "they" say I should eat. Every week there's something new we should avoid.
If others want to live a life of avoidance, that's their choice, I don't blame them, but, I want to enjoy what I eat, while I can.
Not ranting, just stating.
