What Do You Do When Your Dr. Says He Never Seen Such A Bad Case As Yours But Than Says We Tried Everything You’ve Drug Resistant You Have To
Hi Mark.
I donkey kick him where I'm hurting.
Nah, just kidding. I cant lift that high. Lol
But my 2 sisters who go to a lot of doc appts with me have made several cry. Not that that helped much either
It is never a great thing when a doctor says I have tried everything. Unfortunately we know that fibromyalgia has no cure, also so far there is not even a conclusive way to diagnose it. However, I feel that there are always options to try to relieve symptoms. If you ask fibroteam members there is an endless creative list of dealing with the pain or psychological symptoms. Surely some of us respond well or relatively well to medications approved to treat fibromyalgia symptoms. I am thinking your doctor had you on all of them to see if they help you. Not sure if you tried pain clinics to try to help with localized pain with lidocaine/steroid injections, or massage, heat, cold, tens machine. Sometimes we are on so many different medications it is difficult to figure it out what are the side effects, perhaps withdrawal symptoms, or negative interaction between meds we take. I feel your frustration! I just want to cut out my pain sometimes, it hurts, pulls, stabs, zaps. I am having a difficult time to imagine how to live with it to the rest of my life, feeling crippled by the pain. To make things worse, like you I had a negative interaction with a doctor, who could not care less about my level of pain. He strictly focused on ruling out the cause of the pain (looking at the spine), spine surgeon. I am sure he had seen it all pain wise. Did not offer any idea at all! Not even ibuprofen or lidocaine patch, let alone stronger pain medications. He was done in 3 minutes, saying my pain is probably not coming from the spine (I am thinking a trapped/irritated nerve) but we will see MRI images after I get it done. It was an extremely disappointing experience for me, being at pain level 7 on a scale from 1-10. I try not to give up. Keep reading our fibroteam members experiences, recommendations of how to deal with the pain, how to prevent flares, how to deal with doctors, family members. Don't give up searching for relief.
It all feels hopeless doesn’t it? 😐🫠 I wish I could be on disability but I have bills. Be nice to not have pain for once. Living in pain is damn depressing. I hope you find something to help.
Basically there is not a lot they can do but put you on Gabapentin and a anti depressant. Maybe a muscle relaxers. In my case also pain meds.
Try topical such as biofreeze and icy Hot.
I Have Seen Rheumatologists Before But The Meds I Take Do Not Help Much, Has Anybody Been Treated By A Neurologist? If So, Has It Helped? T
Gabapentin
I Have Read That Depression Can Cause Pain. I Believe The Opposite Is True.
