Menopause And Aging With Fibromyalgia
After living relatively a normal life with FM for 30 years, my disabling flare-up coincided with menopause. I would like to hear from others that had similar experiences. Life was turned upside down for me by mother nature, genetics, and this elusive illness. Still grappling with the drastic change.
Also, I have been told by my physician that how FM affects aging is relatively unknown. Some studies say it ages the body 10-20 years faster - but that is inconclusive. I also know that the… read more
Thanks for all the great comments. There is so much more to learn about this illness it is good to hear how it has affected others.
Does Anyone's Scalp Get Sore To The Touch Before A Headache Starts?
The crown of my head gets really sore and throbbing. If I take my Topomax before the head ache starts it can block the headache. Is this part of fibro?
Try Maxalt or Rizatriptain. They really help but you need a prescription. Promethazine is good for nausea which might come visit with the migraines.
I Am Finding It Difficult To Actually Get Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia. How Can I Get A Confirmed Diagnosis?
I have many symptoms of Fibromyalgia. I have seen my GP and rheumatologist, had various scans but I am finding it very difficult to get an actual diagnosis. My tests and scans confirm that I do not have RA, but mild osteoporosis in a few joints.
Thank you to you all for your comments. My rheumatologist has now diagnosed fibromyalgia along with osteo arthritis x

Cold Sores
Several weeks ago I was put on Lamictal for my seizure activity. I broke out with a bunch of cold sores. My daughter was sick and I lost allot of sleep so I thought it was just from being run down.
Then I had white sores all over my tongue and throat. Felt feverish. No fever.
Broke out in a purple rash on my back. Stopped Lamictal immediately. I am nurse ( non active atm due to health) but it's a side effect of Lamictal. Called my neuro confirmed stopping.
Anyway since then. I keep feeling… read more
I think the last post was very good advice.
Help Please Neurologist Appointment
Help please. I need advice. I've been referred to a neurologist for the possibility of ALS or MS and couldn't get in until the end of January. With comments from the neurosurgeon I begged my way in to see the neurologist tomorrow. I'm in the process of appealing my short term disability denial and when I told my husband tonight how nervous I am about the neurologist appointment tomorrow he was more concerned with meeting with my credit union regarding my credit card since I currently have no… read more
