Does Anyone Get Hip/back Flare Ups When You're Sitting In A Car For Too Long?

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Last year i went on a road trip with my family and after sitting in the car for hours at a time I suffered a sever flare in my hips and lower back. We had regular toilet breaks and opportunities to stretch our legs, I tried to get as much leg room as possible but nothing seemed to work and the pain got worse as the trip went on. I'm about to go on another trip and was wondering if anyone had any advice for what to do or how to prevent the pain....?

Also I don't drive very far myself these days… read more

Yes, this is a constant for me now. I got one of those chair pads for a broken tailbone or sciatic. I use it on my car seat now when I drive or am a passenger. I does help some.

This happens to me as well. Also happens with a change in my bed. Ibuprofen usually helps with this for me.

I had a heated vibrating seat cushion( it is one that covers back as Well as buttocks)
that I put in my car when driving long distance . I found that good. Last couple of times I didn't have it because it broke and I suffered. I really have to get new one

You may have osteoarthritis. I've found that I hurt more with it than fibro. Prednisone helps with inflammation.
