Emotions
I'm having problems with my emotions and whether I should trust them or not. Alot of the time i think my meds make me feel things that I don't really feel. I've been having alot of bad side effects recently and that may be a part of it. Their also changing my meds so fast my body is just reeling trying to get used to them all and then I have to get used to not taking them. I really don't know what to do anymore. It seems like the people i should trust, my drs, are just using me as a guinea pig… read more
I don't blame anyone for trying something your Dr thinks will help to ease fibro we would jump thru a fire hoop... Me personally well I like the tried and true medicine that's been around for years. I take blood thinner I stick with warfarin because I don't see lawyers on TV promising you big money because new medications are killing you or harming your organ's for me the longer it's been around the better I feel about taking it!! Maybe it has something to do with the diet pills I took years ago they were pulled so quick your head would spin every since then I've been a little afraid of new medicine.
Have a blessed day

Number one-fibromyalgia hurts a lot, and makes you feel you don't know what to do with yourself and you can feel low without any medication. It is a disease which, at the present time, has no cure.
Now, every medicine the doctors give you is an experiment, some have been tried with a certain amount of success with some people, but others either can react badly or they just don't help.
Some doctors are desperate to help and will try 'an idea'. In some cases there may be an element of success, in others a disaster.
Some drug manufacturers may suggest to a GP to use certain meds, this may give the GP a bonus of some kind.
Remember, it is your body and Inspite of all your pain you are in charge of it. If you think the medications are making you worse you MUST speak to your specialist/doctor. If need be ,under supervision, stop what you are taking and start again.
Do some research yourself, if you can.
Try and be in control.
If you have a family member or friend who can support your next moves, also with the research, it will put YOU in the driving seat again.
I have been trying herbal remedies, in desperation because I react badly to so many medications. I have found, for me, turmeric in the form or curcumin tablets is helping a bit, also concentrated cherry juice and organic cider vinegar. Eating extra fruit and veg and little or no carbs is also helping, I think.
REMEMBER. It is your body. Try and be in control.
Be kind to yourself.
Gentle hugs
Going off meds and going on meds will throw your body I a spiral. Your doctor should know this. Its not very professional for a doctor to do this. My neurologist gave me a few different medacines to try, it only took me a week to throw them back at him. Doctors do get kick backs (paid) for prescribing certain medacines. Try to take co trol its your body. They are getting a paycheck. It is really easy to trust doctors, I have learned you have to take charge or they will take advantage of you. Sorry this isn't very positive. Try to trust yourself. You know how your body feels. Stay positive. Hugs.
Nancy I'm having some bad reactions and some meds just aren't working. I do go to pain management. I see them and my family Dr.
My daughter, who also suffers with fibro and depression, has done a lot of study about ortho molecular medicine which has to do with the use of vitamins and minerals to treat disease. She uses niacin and vitamin C and has been able to get off of her antidepressant and keeps her pain under control. Check out Dr Andrew Saul. She is the reason I take Niacin. I am not a dr and, in fact, most medical drs won't encourage you much in the use of vitamins/minerals. I have not had any side effects from niacin but it does help me with my depression a lot and moods. Dr Saul has a lot of videos on YouTube. Also Dr Weil is very good and is kind of the grandfather of integrative medicine. Good luck my friends!
