Does Massage Help Symptoms Of Fibro?
I was just wondering if anyone feels any pain relief after getting a massage? I think that getting one might help my muscle pain but I'm very hesitant. Can anyone weigh in on if this if this helps with pain relief?
I get shiatsu massage routinely and I think it helps. Deep muscle massage made me worse
It helps a bunch Highly recommend
Me too Cindy!! We got massages every day in massage therapy school, and i used to trade out weekly with a friend. Wish i could find someone here to trade with.
I'm a massage therapist, and I work on myself all the time. Yes it can help. You need to find the right therapist who will work with you on your symptoms. Some people can only stand light pressure, some like deeper work. Start light. Gentle assisted stretching and warm stone massage help. Work your way up to some accupressure/trigger point work. Expect to be a bit sore after that, but it helps in the long run.
With massage it can also depend on the oil they choose to use. Massage oils may have essential oils added to decrease inflammation or to relax your muscles and nervous system. A good massage therapist will use the oils that would be best for each patient depending on their situation.
