Itching

Does anyone with fibromyalgia experience random all over itching?

I have no rash, no new drugs/creams/soaps/detergent, wasn't out in nature(like to be able to get poison ivy), I wasn't around any kids with rashes and I haven't had any new food I've never eaten before. Oh and no bug bites except one mosquito bite on my leg but it isn't inflamed or infected or anything
and I'm itchy like all over.

I'm itchy on my arms, in particular my wrists and like shoulder/behind my underarms on my back, my… read more

FYI

Fibromyalgia can affect adults of any age or gender. Symptoms of fibromyalgia vary from person to person, and your treatment plan may change several times as the condition progresses. Common symptoms include:

constant muscle pain
weakness
fatigue
unexplained pain that travels throughout your body
Some people may also experience pruritus, or severe itching, as a symptom of fibromyalgia. If you’re experiencing persistent itching, keep reading to learn how you can cope with and treat this uncomfortable symptom.

Hope this helps you. Hugs.💖

Yes. Itching seems like a common problem. Moisturize often. I have been wanting to visit a dermatologist but no medical insurance right now. Wondering if others experience this too with Fibromyalgia? Many more problems since getting my last flu shot...anyone else's comments on this would be appreciated. Thanks for asking about this. 😃

@A MyFibroTeam Member I have CRAZY itching! It can come on at the drop of a hat, usually starts at night, and lasts 24-48 hours. From my scalp to my fingers and toes (I have to “wring” them to get any relief) to my face and literally every inch of my body. I take Claritin daily, but that doesn’t stop the craze! I take Benadryl and and klonopin and try to sleep my way through it. I have read and also been told by my doctors that out pain receptors and itch receptors are one in the same, so either can be triggered by a flare. I’ve noticed my pain is much less life-interfering than the itching flares. I get so loony and irritable and think I’m losing my mind! Leave it to me to be in the 2% of fibromyalgia patients @A MyFibroTeam Member! Any recommendations would be appreciated since so far my docs think Benadryl is sufficient.

I also have the itching all over. The more I scratch in one place the more I itch in another. It is more like an inside itch that you can't get to. My doctor perscribed Visitrial, but now that I have turned 70, the insurance does not want to approve it me. I have to get a written statement from my doctor. It does help. Everyone have a blessed day!
