Massage Question

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Bay Area

So I was trying to do some self massage and acupressure for fibromyalgia relief and felt bruised the next day but no spots. Also I have gone to a masseuse but it was painful a lot and next day felt like I had been in a car wreck. Anyone get massages for fibro and survive? Lol. Maybe we can only get light Swedish or the craniosacral gentle touch placement energy work?

The best massage I had was a hot stone massage. Not too much pressure and plenty of heat, really helps loosen you up.

My exhusband used to give me light massages for pain. He learned from my noises of pain that he couldnt go deep just a slight pressure rub. But that rub made so much of a difference (especially when pregnant and i couldnt take anything for pain and Id be laying there crying my eyes out) bless his heart sometimes hed rub me till i was almost asleep. Anything for my babies.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I'm glad you are having myofascial release therapy. I've had 3 treatments of it and would have continued but other health issues came up. I could tell it was helping the area between my shoulder blades to feel more relaxed. Hope your ankle gets better with the icing and Turmeric. Take care, Linda

Thank you everyone for your feedback! @A MyFibroTeam Member thank you for sharing that you could be ok with someone you trained to gently lightly massage and that still gave you a benifitted experience! I think that is what I need too. Gentle mild stretching and circulation relaxing muscles. Better even after a bath! πŸŒ·πŸŒΈπŸŒΌπŸ˜„πŸŒΌπŸŒΈπŸŒ·
