My rheumatologist brought it up as an idea. From what I heard there's type of massage for ppl with fibro and the link. It's one for releasing/relaxing the mayofscia tissue.
I get many knots in my muscles but my tissue too
Something else I also read is one of the many great joys of fibro.

Hi, I get massages every 2nd week. I have a great and most important knowledgeable person. Everytime I go, I tell him which areas to concentrate on. I know my body pretty good. For a wonderful hour, he works his magic and he always finds those areas that...he just knows!!! Massage is excellent for stretching reluctant muscles, that I have trouble locating when I do bodywork. It's relaxing for me as I also have chronic pain. When you are in pain, you're body is clenched so tight, it's tiring! Imagine a clenched fist, it's clenched tightly all the time in a fist. Wouldn't it hurt and feel tired? Well with massage imagine that same sore, tired clenched fist slowly open, the pressure easing, you sigh in relief as the pain eases. You can't believe how good it feels even for a moment. But no, these benefits last longer, it's wonderful. If I could afford it, I'd get massages every day. And massages aren't just for relaxing and gently stretching your muscles, it has been reported to help heal bulging disc's, aiding and improving circulation, it destresses your mind, only to name a few of the benefits. After a massage is the only time I can say with total honesty, my body does not hurt....anywhere. The only downfall, is that for people with chronic pain issues, the soothing effects of the massage don't last forever. For myself, I ride that cloud for maybe four hours. However , I find that my painfree times have been slowly increasing. I can remember when I first started getting massages, my pain-free time was maybe a half hour, now it's about four hours. For me, I definitely get benefits.
