I’m In The US. I Take Low Dose Opioids For Pain. Does Anyone Else Feel They Are Portrayed As A Drug Addict?
I have had the same pain management doc for several years. Have taken very expensive injections without seeing much success. I am allergic to Celebrex and torodol. ( anaphylaxis) Two of my prescriptions were not originally listed as “controlled substances”. Then they changed the status. Happy to add you! I have prescriptions for tramodol, low dose hydrocodone and Lyrica. Until recently only the hydrocodone was considered controlled. I don’t take them all at once or every day but I’m able to control my pain when I’m having a bad spell. At my age I figure what difference does it make but I find myself wanting to hide the fact that I use these for relief and feeling bad about myself.
Hi Diane,
I know exactly what you mean! having FMS for 44 years and not once asked for anything I made it along. Now I am 82 and was offered help by my Dr. who I have had for 25 tears. She gave me Tramadol and it made a lot of help for me. It was once a non controlled drug. I took it when in a flare. Meantime, I just started with my 9th rhum. who did a bunch of tests. I have no inflammation I go to 2 or high sed rate. My muscles show no damage. So he just started me on Gabatin at 100 mgs and for the following three weeks I go to 2 a day taken at night. I was told by him I could take this the rest of my life. My fam dr. is in approval as well. But as you say, at 82 I want to have some kind of life. So, if they call you a junkie so be it!! My health otherwise is perfect except I am diabetic. Keep in touch a I will you. Add me okay?
