Ibuprofen/ Aleve Rebound Pain

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Colorado Springs, CO

I've had more sharp pain lately so I've taken much more ibuprofen. About 8 200mg doses/day. I think it may be making my pain worse once it wears off! It takes the edge off for a while but in about 6 hours I feel like I'm in worse pain than I was before! Does anyone feel this?

I have almost stopped taking Iboprofen. The more I've read on what the drug does to your stomach and bowels has really turned me off it.

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
La Crosse, WI

When I was a teenager and the pain started getting too intense to handle without taking anything, I started taking a lot of ibuprofen throughout the day. As in, 9-12 pills a day, everyday, for years. My kidneys were rough every time they've been tested in the past few years, and last year they got so bad my doctor had to refer me to a nephrologist who diagnosed me with Stage 2 CKD. She was confused though, because I'm not diabetic and I have low blood pressure, so how did I end up with such bad… read more

Tylenol 3 Vs Tramadol

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Festus, MO

Hello all! I had to reduce my Tramadol to only in the morning (possibly prn if absolutely needed later in day) along with Gabapentin the rest of the day. Its not been helping lately due to increased pain (neck nerve and canal impingements).
The pain doctor said Tylenol 3 is stronger than Tramadol.
Do you think it is stronger?
Thanks so much Fibro Sisters :)

A MyFibroTeam Member

Tramadol works better for me than Tylenol 3, however, I do believe we all react to different medications differently.

I need to have a mamogram. Just don't know how i will manage the pain during and after due to fibro and costochondritis. I also have nerve pain and scar tissue pain. Any advice would be welcome. I'm not on any meds for fibro. I only take diazpam for anxiety as needed.
